Victoria

I am on holiday in Victoria. How great doesnt that sound? :) Me and Frida first spent one week with lisa and luke in Bealiba. It was great to visit Bealiba when Lisa was there. She is blending in with the people and even makes jokes on the local pub :) She also drives steady on the left side (unlike her sister) on the road, wears a cap and drives the chaser bin.

We also spent some time in Ballarat on our way down to Melbourne. Of course we had to do some gold-mining touristing. They have found some big chunks of gold in Victoria in the old days. Apparently the gold is the reason for the quick population of the countryside and today there is many pretty houses left in the small towns. It is historically interesting and also just a pleasure to stroll around and look at the houses.

Me Frida and Toby was on phillip Island a few days ago. That was an amazing place. The waves, the rocks, the beaches. The penguins (a reminder of the time when Australia and Antartica were attached to each other) were also amazing. The organisation built up to protect the Penguins was perhaps even more amazing. When the sun set the Penguins are coming out of the water and crossing the beach to go to their nests in the bushes. Then the crowds looking at the penguings from big concrete stands on the sand is kept under control by guards. It gives me goose bumps. We are able to in a few years extinguish this penguin species just by letting tourists explore the area freely. But we choose not to.

Dar det sista citatet egentligen ar applicerbart pa allt vi har sett i Victoria sa har langt. Inklusive hoga berg, djupa dalar och blaa hav. For att inte tala om the Grand Ridge Road. (Internt skamt for de som rest i roda blixten)
