Australia Party at Loren and Stevens Place

We just had the most pleasant afternoon at Loren and Stevens place. Sandi and her husband and Ting was there as well. I think we got more tastes of Australia than we had ever expected. Let me tell you about it!

When we came we were introduced to their two sweet cats. They were still not fully-grown and very playful happy cats. As Steven was cooking the food on the Barbeque we took the two cats out in the garden (keeping them in a leash) to avoid lost cats :). At first they were afraid but as they got used to all the noises and smells they played around in the grass until the meet was cooked. Then we ate the delicious food. Ting had brought a potato salad that was very enjoyable and we got to eat kangaroo sausage. I cant believe it! It was too hot weather for wine so we had water, juice and lemonade. To desert we got to try the Australian cookies Ansac biscuits, Lamingtons and a third chocolate one that I cant remember what Loren called. (not too sure about the spelling of the others either:) ).

The highlight of the day was perhaps the movie “The Castle”. Very entertaining! And also bringing up some sensitive issues and perhaps teaching morality as well. I don’t think we would have come across that movie if it wasn’t for Loren, so we thank her for that. It was a very Australian movie set in Australia about Australian people and a single person trying to stand up against a huge company/business group. Not too sure what to call it.

Is there a Swedish movie that one would pick to show a foreigner on a visit? Cant really say just off the top of my head. But I think So as in Heaven would be a good choice. Maybe even Änglagård. They both deal with the Swedish “Vemod” and have some good pictures of the Swedish landscape.

Anyway, had a great afternoon. Now back to writing that report of mine :)
